The NYC Votes Youth Local History Lessons cover the following NYC historical figures: Robert Moses, the Young Lords, and Shirley Chisholm. These lessons are designed to give youth important historical context, while also providing a glimpse into how different actors interact with and navigate local government. Each session ends with an interactive breakout activity and group discussion. The second session will look at the legacy and impact of The Young Lords. Youth ages 14-25 years old, educators, and youth service providers are all encouraged to attend.

This lesson series is hosted in partnership with the New York Public Library and LatinoJustice.
